While you have offered many different (for and against) views, we can also Agree to Disagree and think objectively as to why there is a protest in the first place…
As I stated above “Kneeling IS the compromise as some players had their hand over their heart to continue to display their patriotic duty, while silently bringing to light the plight of police brutality.”
If Black Lives weren’t marginalized as “Less Than” there would be No Need to demonstrate and/or protest to a song in a country, that, quite frankly doesn’t respect People of Color as equals. It is this negativity that is highlighted by the (privileged) who have this unique opportunity chose to use their fame in a National forum (owners included).
And finally, we have a president who also marginalizes ALL People Of Color. As leader of the free world, this does NOT promote Unity in our Nation, nor the world. Calling Kim “Rocket Man” is immature and dangerous. Should he decide to launch a Nuclear Strike against the U.S., the TRUMP Family will be totally safe, while the (innocent) will bear the brunt as victims.
Once Upon a Time, players were never present on the field during the National Anthem and usually came out on the field (after) the ‘Singing Performance’ was complete. In 2009, players begun coming out on the field before, because the Gov’t. paid them to. Between the Dept. of Defense and National Guard, both paid NFL over $12 Million between 2011 and 2015 to boost morale and military recruitment.
Since many people believe NFL players should Not use politics to take a stand against police brutality, remember, politics injected itself into the NFL, first.
