Interesting take… I believe there is a fascination with black culture — the good and the bad, albeit acknowledging that it doesn’t reflect “all” black people, it is still a culture that is glorified by whites, emulated, but not respected as a people. So while the article does point out that you have this “culture” it is also trendy to dress, portray and stereotype a black image whenever it’s convenient, dance to rap music, and continue to live in an ivory tower that our skin still has a hard time penetrating, hence, we are still poor!
